Bob Hudek: Madison
Bob has forty years experience as an organizer, trainer, board leader, and manager for
social change organizations. He is currently the coordinator of Service Employees
International Union Wisconsin State Council, responsible for issue advocacy, elections, and
leadership training. Prior to that, Bob ran his own leadership training, strategic planning,
and executive coaching firm, and before that he was the executive director of Citizen Action
of Wisconsin. Bob has developed and conducted a series of national training programs for
unions and citizen organizations on effective organizing, building grass roots power,
leadership development and coalition-building. Bob is a certified yoga instructor, teaching
weekly classes at Joy In Yoga studio.

Alicia Wright: Madison
Along with being a busy yoga mamma of three active boys, Alicia studies with Scott
Anderson and Michael Stone. She teaches the Alignment Yoga 200-Hour Yoga Teacher
Training Program and trains new yoga teachers. Alicia herself is a graduate of the 500-
hour Alignment Yoga Teacher Training Program and has countless hours of teaching yoga
throughout the Madison area. She blends classical yoga with what her students need in
modern times. She passionately believes in the power of yoga to help us live a simply

Sheryl Lilke: Madison
Sheryl has been practicing yoga and meditation for many years and teaching since 2009.
She has a 500-hour certification in Alignment Yoga; her teaching focuses on reducing
stress, calming the nervous system, cultivating somatic awareness, and living in an aging
body. Sheryl has received lay ordination in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition and teaches
Zen philosophy and practice as well as secular mindfulness practices. She also works as a
writer and editor and lives in Madison with her husband and two teenage sons.

Rebecca S. Krantz, PhD: Madison
Becca is founder and lead organizer of CORE, Consulting for Organizational Reflection and
Effectiveness. CORE brings people together to cultivate individual and collective strength,
courage and creativity in service of a just, peaceful, sustainable world. Becca also offers
leadership coaching and group facilitation through her business Many Stones Consulting,
LLC, and is a certified Somatic Leadership Coach through the Strozzi Institute. Becca has
been an activist in the peace, feminist, and environmental movements, and worked for 6
years as the executive director, facilitator, and community organizer for a non-profit
coalition of neighborhood associations in Madison. She received a PhD in Sociology from
the UW-Madison studying the social, psychological, and spiritual foundations of community
participation and activism.

Our Teachers
Katharina Hren: Milwaukee
Katharina Hren has worked in the Milwaukee community as a non-profit administrator for over 20 years (Milwaukee Turners, Goethe House of WI, Milwaukee Public Theatre) and has been teaching yoga for the past 5 years at studios such as Yama Yoga, Invivo Wellness, Turner Climbing Gym, and the Gerald Ignace Indian Health Center since completing her 200 hour training at Kanyakumari Ayurveda & Yoga Wellness. Also trained in Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Street Yoga, Katharina is passionate about social justice; she has been sharing yoga and mindfulness practices with youth, especially those who live in violent and impoverished neighborhoods, as well as inmates in the prison system, at such places as Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility, COA, Running Rebels, Meta House, Urban Ecology Center, Holton Youth and Family Center, Neighborhood House, and more. Katharina is also a grad student in the Community Psychology program at Alverno and is currently working as a sexual assault counselor in training at the Healing Center.

Rebecca Schuster: Milwaukee
Rebecca was introduced to yoga by her mother and sister at a neighborhood studio in her native city of New York. She has since practiced at a number of different studios in various cities and with a number of instructors. Rebecca is a graduate of Kanyakumari's Yoga Teacher Training program under Sarah Filzen. This program taught her not only the physical intricacies of asana but also energetic anatomy as well as a basic foundation in Pranayama (Yogic breath work) and yoga's sister science Ayurveda. Rebcca's classes aim at giving a sense of empowerment and grace to people. She also aims to help people become more aware of their breath and internal movements. The practice of yoga is a life long lesson that anyone can learn. She aims to continue learning and to be inspired by those who attend her classes.

Carolann Nelson: Administrative Support
Carolann provides administrative support to the Mindfulness for Social Change program. She became a registered yoga teacher with the hopes of making yoga available to everyone, regardless of physical limitations. Carolann is a graduate of Alignment Yoga's 200 RYT program. She teaches gentle, progressive yoga in the Madison area to beginners and experienced yogis seeking a restorative practice.

Janice Cittasubha Sheppard: Madison
Janice Cittasubha Sheppard is a Lay Buddhist Minister in the Theravada Thai Forest lineage of Ajahn Chah, and a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center. She has been practicing meditation since 1995 and teaching meditation since 2002. She currently teaches introductory and continuing classes on meditation, leads a weekly meditation group for the Madison Insight Meditation Group, teaches a year-long intensive program for practitioners seeking to deepen their meditation practice, leads retreats, and teaches mindfulness meditation in several Wisconsin prisons.
